Faith & Life Grade 8 · Chapter 6 · The Visible Hierarchical Church
The Roman Curia: Who Handles It?
The Pope cannot personally handle every question from 1.4 billion Catholics. The Roman Curia is the group of offices that help him serve the whole Church. Since 2022 (the constitution Praedicate Evangelium), its main offices are called “dicasteries.” Older books call them “congregations.”
Explore the idea
Read each situation and choose the dicastery that would handle it. Teachers: some textbooks use the older “Congregation” names for these same offices.

Discuss the connection
