Faith & Life Grade 7 · Chapter 27 · The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick
Preparing for a Happy Death
A “happy death” means dying in God’s friendship, ready to meet Him. The Church offers the “last sacraments,” Penance, Anointing, and Viaticum, as the final help for the journey home. Saint Joseph, who died with Jesus and Mary beside him, is the patron of a happy death.
