Faith & Life Grade 8 · Chapter 8 · The Church Sanctifying: Worship
Liturgy, Devotion, or Sacramental?
Liturgy is the official public worship of the whole Church: the Mass, the sacraments, and the Liturgy of the Hours (CCC 1069-1070). Devotions and sacramentals are good and fruitful, and they flow from and lead back to the liturgy (CCC 1675).
Explore the idea
Read each practice and decide where it belongs. Watch for one that surprises most students: the Liturgy of the Hours is liturgy even when prayed alone.
