Faith & Life Grade 8 · Chapter 6 · The Visible Hierarchical Church
Honor, Office, or Order?
There are only three degrees of Holy Orders. Titles like Pope, cardinal, archbishop, and monsignor are real and important, but they are offices or honors given to men who are already ordained. They are not extra degrees of the sacrament.
Explore the idea
Read each role and choose where it belongs. Watch out for titles that sound like a higher degree of ordination.
