Adoration or Veneration?
Catholics worship God alone. Theologians call this “latria.” We honor the saints for God’s grace at work in them (“dulia”), and we give Mary a special, higher honor (“hyperdulia”) because she is the Mother of God. Mary and the saints always point us to Jesus.
